Ritchie Amateur Group was founded in 1982, with 7 members. Today we have 21 members , and the county has a population of 49 hams. The age of our members ranges from 79 to 12. Although we are a small group, we participate in many activities, including providing communications for the only full marathon in the state, support for the Ham Club in the Ritchie Co. Middle School, operating with the Scouts during Jamboree on the Air, Field Day participation, and testing for new or upgrading hams. In addition most members are members of ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service ) and also Skywarn stormspotters in association with the National Weather Service.

Club meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the

Pennsboro Branch of the Ritchie County Library.
